Neck Pain

Neck pain

What is Neck Pain?

Neck pain is a common problem that affects millions of people each year. Neck pain is more than just general soreness or an occasional muscle strain; it’s a serious condition that can lead to permanent damage if left untreated.

Neck pain can be caused by a variety of factors including stress, poor sleeping habits, car accidents, sports injuries, repetitive motions, aging, poor posture, working on a computer for long periods of time or vertebral misalignment.

Signs and Symptoms of Neck Pain:

Neck pain is often accompanied by many different signs and symptoms. Aside from pain, the most common symptoms are numbness and/or tingling in the arms or hands, muscle tenderness, headaches, and neck mobility issues.

How Our Neck Pain Treatment Works:

Our neck pain treatment targets the source of the problem through spinal adjustments. Before your treatment begins, our expert chiropractor, Dr. Mohammadi, will check your neck for vertebral misalignments.

If a misalignment is detected Dr. Mohammadi will restore proper alignment to the affected vertebra via a series of gentle and precise cervical adjustments. This adjustment will not only relieve pain in the neck and head area, but it will also allow us to correct other problems that may be contributing to the pain, such as postural defects, muscle spasms, and disc degeneration.

If you have persistent neck pain that you haven’t been able to treat with traditional methods, spinal adjustment may be the solution you’ve been looking for.

Migraines

Migraines

What are Migraines?

A migraine is a chronic neurological disorder characterized by recurrent headaches and debilitating pain. According to the Mayo Clinic, migraines are estimated to affect more than 30 million Americans, withomen three times more likely to have migraines than men.

Common triggers for migraines include stress, hormonal changes, bright lights, and even certain foods. As you can imagine, frequent migraines can quickly become a debilitating condition, resulting in loss of productivity and mobility, and an impaired quality of life.

Signs and Symptoms of Migraines:

The most common symptoms of migraines include throbbing or pulsating pain on one or both sides of the head, nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light. In particularly severe cases, migraines can also cause sensitivity to sound, difficulty with speech, blurred vision, and temporary paralysis.

How Our Migraine Treatment Works:

The goal of chiropractic care is to restore proper alignment of the cervical spine to eliminate pain. Our migraine treatment begins with a thorough examination of the neck and upper back. If we detect any cervical misalignments, Dr. Mohammadi will use gentle, non-invasive chiropractic manipulations to realign the out-of-place vertebra. By correcting misalignments in the cervical spine, we can target the source of inflammation and musculoskeletal stress around the brainstem and central nervous system, thereby reducing, if not eliminating, your migraine symptoms.

If you’re looking for a natural and alternative treatment for migraines, Dr. Mohammadi can help.

TMJ

TMJ

What is TMJ?

Temporomandibular joint disorders are a set of painful conditions caused by dysfunction in the temporomandibular joint, a hinge-like structure that connects the mandible (the lower jaw) to the temporal bones of the skull.

We often think of TMJ as being a disorder of the jaw joint, but it is actually a disorder of the entire TMJ complex, including the muscles and ligaments that facilitate proper function in the joint. TMJ dysfunction is caused by a variety of systemic and local causes, including certain types of stress, trauma impacts, and spinal alignment issues.

Signs and Symptoms of TMJ:

At the onset of a typical TMJ disorder, patients usually experience pain in the area of the jaw joint, and may experience headaches, ear pain, and/or noise in the jaw. TMJ can also cause changes in chewing, biting, and jaw movements, as well as limited jaw opening, such as during yawning, talking, and eating.

How the Upper Cervical Spine Effects TMJ:

The upper cervical spine is the uppermost section of the spine, typically extending from the base of the skull to the base of the neck. In addition to stabilizing the head and neck and supporting an upright posture, the upper cervical spine is also responsible for initiating and modulating the activity of the muscles of the jaw and facial region.

When the upper cervical spine is out of alignment, it can cause imbalances to develop in the mastication muscle group, the muscles used to move the jaw, causing joint erosion, teeth grinding, jaw clenching, and muscle spasms. As these injuries compound, the muscles of the jaw and facial region can become chronically over-active (or under-active), resulting in a variety of TMJ-related symptoms.

How Our TMJ Treatment Works:

At our office Dr. Mohammadi focuses on correcting the whole spine in order to restore proper function to the muscles of the jaw and facial region. The first step in our TMJ treatment program is to identify whether you are suffering from a misalignment in the cervical spine. To do so Dr. Mohammadi, will examine your cervical spine.

Dr. Mohammadi will correct any misalignments by performing a series of gentle, effective and precise chiropractic adjustments. In addition to correcting the cervical spine, our TMJ treatment program will also include a series of muscle and joint mobilizations, and/or exercises to help improve muscle function and joint mobility in the jaw and facial region.

If you’re looking for a natural treatment method for alleviating TMJ disorders, we can help!

Sciatica

Sciatica

What is Sciatica?

Sciatica is a painful condition that affects the lower back and the legs. The condition is caused by dysfunction in the sciatic nerve, the largest nerve in the body. The sciatic nerve is located in the lower back, and runs down the back of the thigh, through the hip, and down the leg.

The sciatic nerve has two branches: the tibial nerve and the common peroneal nerve. When these nerves become inflamed or pinched, it can lead to pain, numbness, and weakness in the legs and lower back.

Signs and Symptoms of Sciatica:

Sciatica is a condition that can vary widely in intensity. The most common symptom of sciatica is pain that radiates from the lower back down to the back of the legs. This pain may be felt as a dull ache or a sharp, stabbing pain.

How Our Sciatica Treatment Works:

Our treatment focuses on correcting the misalignment in the whole spine. By restoring proper function to the spine, our patients are able to reduce pressure on the sciatic nerve.

The first step in our sciatica treatment is to identify where you are suffering from a vertebral misalignment. Dr. Mohammadi will perform a series of gentle, non-invasive chiropractic adjustments to restore proper alignment to the spine thereby reducing or even eliminating the symptoms of sciatica.

If you’re looking for a natural solution to sciatica, we’re here to help!

Numbness and Tingling in the Hand and Feet

Tingling

What is Numbness and Tingling in the Hands and Feet?

Numbness and tingling in the hands and feet is a very common condition. However, numbness and tingling are symptoms, not a condition in their own right. These symptoms can be caused by a variety of factors, including muscle strain, inflammation, and nerve compression. In most cases, the root cause of numbness and tingling is connected to an underlying issue in the body’s musculoskeletal system.

Signs and Symptoms of Numbness and Tingling in the Hands and Feet:

As you would expect, the condition is characterized by a feeling of numbness or tingling in the extremities. In some cases, this feeling may be accompanied by other sensations such as burning on the skin, throbbing pain, or itching. Left untreated, numbness and tingling in the hands and feet can lead to mobility issues and cause difficulty when performing fine motor activities.

How Our Treatment for Numbness and Tingling in the Hands and Feet Works:

At our office, we use chiropractic care to address the underlying source of numbness and tingling. However, before we can begin the adjustment process, Dr. Mohammadi will pinpoint the exact location of any misalignments in the spine and/or extremities.

Once this is complete, Dr. Mohammadi will perform a series of gentle and precise chiropractic adjustments to realign the affected vertebra. By restoring the spine’s natural alignment, we are able to improve the nerve flow, receptor function, and overall health of the body.

If you’re looking for a natural remedy to numbness and tingling in the hands and feet, we can help!

Insomnia

Insomnia

What is Insomnia?

Insomnia is a condition characterized by disrupted sleep patterns. This usually manifests as a difficulty in falling asleep, staying asleep, or both. Left untreated, insomnia can lead to a host of negative health consequences, including fatigue, poor concentration, increased stress, and depression.

It’s not uncommon for people to start looking for a natural insomnia treatment when they have spent years on sleeping pills, with no relief. The side effects of sleeping pills can be brutal and their efficacy is not always guaranteed. For this reason alone, natural treatments for insomnia are worth consideration.

Insomnia is a symptom, not a disease in itself. It’s a symptom of a problem in the body, usually a problem in the nervous system. Chiropractic care can help with a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological issues, and it’s a natural way of dealing with the root cause of insomnia.

Signs and Symptoms of Insomnia:

There are many signs of insomnia. Some of the most common include difficulty falling asleep, waking up frequently during the night, waking up feeling tired and groggy the next day.

How Our Insomnia Treatment Works:

One of the first things we do when we start treating a patient for insomnia is to identify the root cause of the problem. To do so, our expert chiropractor, Dr. Mohammadi, will examine your spine to identify areas of slight misalignment in the vertebrae (subluxation).

If a misalignment is detected, Dr. Mohammadi will perform a full chiropractic adjustment to restore the spine’s natural alignment. The adjustment will reduce pressure on the nerve roots and ligaments of the spine, which will in turn relieve pressure on the back, restore proper function to the central nervous system, and alleviate insomnia symptoms.

If you want a natural and alternative solution to your insomnia, we can help!

Whiplash

Whiplash

What is Whiplash?

Whiplash is a condition that occurs following an impact injury to the neck. Whiplash is often caused by car accidents or sports injuries, but it can also occur when an individual is suddenly jerked into an upright position. These injuries typically result in the neck moving back and forth with violent force, damaging the muscles, ligaments, and tendons of the neck.

The severity of whiplash can range from mild to severe, but for many people the condition can have lasting, debilitating effects.

Signs and Symptoms of Whiplash:

Whiplash is a condition that is difficult to diagnose and can be difficult to treat. The symptoms of whiplash can mimic those of other conditions, such pain in the head or neck. However, the most common signs and symptoms of whiplash are neck pain, stiffness, tenderness, headaches, and difficulty with turning or moving the neck.

How Our Whiplash Treatment Works:

Most people who experience whiplash will not receive a proper diagnosis of the problem. Even when they do receive a diagnosis, many conventional doctors will only prescribe pain medication and physical therapy.

To treat your whiplash, we will first identify whether you are suffering from a misalignment in the spine. To do so, Dr. Mohammadi will examine your spine and perform a series of gentle, non-invasive chiropractic adjustments to realign your spine and re-engage the body’s natural healing mechanisms.

Once your spine is properly aligned, Dr. Mohammadi will begin to work on addressing any lingering symptoms of whiplash by using gentle, hands-on techniques. She will be able to work on your muscles, ligaments, and tendons to help reduce the pain and increase the range of motion in your neck.

If you’re looking for a natural and alternative treatment for whiplash, we can help!

Tinnitus

Tinnitus

What is Tinnitus?

Tinnitus is the perception of sound in one or both ears, in the absence of any external sound. Tinnitus is sometimes described as a phantom sound, like hearing a ringing telephone or a wind chime when there is none around.

Tinnitus is usually an indication of some type of ear injury, hearing loss, or a problem with auditory nerve connections to the brain. Common causes of these injuries are ear infections, head trauma, noise exposure, and vertebral misalignments.

Signs and Symptoms of Tinnitus:

The signs and symptoms of tinnitus are wide-ranging. The most commonly cited symptoms are hearing loss and disturbance of hearing. This disturbance of hearing may include a ringing, hissing, a buzzing sound, or even a roaring or whistling sound in the inner ear.

How the Cervical Spine Effects Tinnitus:

The upper cervical spine is a set of seven vertebrae that support and protect the base of the skull and brainstem. As a result, the health of these vertebrae is vital to the proper function of the brain and central nervous system (CNS).

If there is a misalignment in the upper cervical spine, it can lead to direct interference in the normal function of the CNS. This interference is often caused by inflammation around the brainstem. Specifically misalignment-induced inflammation can disrupt the transmission and reception of signals between the CNS and key auditory processing pathways in the inner ear, such as the vestibulocochlear nerve.

How Our Tinnitus Treatment Works:

Our tinnitus treatment utilizes a combination of chiropractic and manual therapy to reduce inflammation and restore proper structure and function to the cervical spine. At our office, this treatment begins with examination of your cervical spine.

Once our expert Chiropractor, Dr. Mohammadi, examines your spine she will target the affected vertebrae with a series of precise and gentle chiropractic adjustments. The goal of this treatment is to restore proper spinal alignment, reduce local inflammation, and improve nerve function in the inner ear. Once your treatment is complete, you should notice an immediate improvement in both the frequency and severity of tinnitus, if not complete relief from the condition.

If you’re tired of suffering from tinnitus, we’re here to help!

Military Neck

Military Neck

What is Military Neck?

Military neck is a term that was coined by doctors in the military who noticed soldiers returning from service had a higher incidence of neck pain, headaches, and back pain. This is a common condition in people who have been in the military, but is routinely found in athletes, and victims of car accidents and head injuries. Military neck is also a risk for people who have occupations requiring them to wear heavy backpacks or equipment that hangs from the shoulders, or who sits for long periods of time.

Signs and Symptoms of Military Neck:

Military neck is characterized by postural issues and stiffness in the upper back and neck area. This stiffness can also be accompanied by numbness and tingling in the arms, shoulders, and fingers. Left untreated, military pain can lead to muscle spasms and muscle tears,  headaches, neck pain, and even loss of mobility in the upper back and neck area.

How the Upper Cervical Spine Affects Military Neck:

The upper cervical spine, which consists of the first seven vertebrae in the upper back, is vital to the health and well-being of the entire body. The upper cervical spine has the most lordotic curve (inward curve) of any part of the spine. This means the curve of the upper cervical spine is the first and most dramatic change in the spine as it curves from the neck and shoulders to the back.

When the upper cervical spine is placed under extended stress, the spine will compensate by shortening and tightening the lordotic curve, which can lead to a host of problems throughout the body, including military neck.

How Our Military Neck Treatment Works:

Our military neck treatment is a non-surgical, non-invasive, and natural way to help patients with military neck. Our treatment begins with a thorough physical examination of the neck and upper back. If a cervical misalignment is detected, Dr. Mohammadi will employ gentle chiropractic adjustment techniques to realign the affected vertebra and restore the natural curve of the upper cervical spine.

If you’re looking for a natural and safe treatment for military neck we can help.

Text Neck Syndrome

Text Neck Syndrome

What is Text Neck Syndrome?

Text neck syndrome is a common injury that stems from a combination of poor ergonomics, unhealthy postural habits, and a sedentary lifestyle. This repetitive strain injury is commonly caused by spending too much time looking down at our phones, leading to pain in the neck and upper back.

The term text neck is used to describe these symptoms because of the way we tend to hunch over our phones when we text. It’s almost as if we’re trying to make our necks more flexible. The problem is that our necks aren’t made to be bent and twisted into such an unnatural position.

Signs and Symptoms of Text Neck Syndrome:

Text neck is characterized by a dull, constant ache in the upper back and neck. This pain may extend to your shoulders, upper arms, and even your forearms. You may feel pain or discomfort when moving your head, or even when holding it in a certain position.

Other common symptoms include stiffness in the neck, headaches, dizziness, and trouble sleeping. Left untreated, text neck syndrome can become a contributing factor to a range of other chronic pain disorders, such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and rheumatoid arthritis.

How the Upper Cervical Spine Effects Text Neck Syndrome:

The upper cervical spine, made up of the first two vertebrae of the spine, known as C1 and C2, is located at the very top of your neck. The upper cervical spine is responsible for the mobility of your head and neck, as well as transmitting sensory information from the brain to the rest of your body.

When you look down at your phone with your neck tilted forward, you create an excessive amount of stress on the muscles, ligaments, and joints that support the upper cervical spine. Over time, this can lead to misalignment in the C1 and C2 vertebrae, causing a wide range of postural and musculoskeletal issues including text neck syndrome.

How Our Text Neck Syndrome Treatment Works:

Our treatment plan for text neck syndrome begins with a comprehensive assessment of your posture and neck mobility. If we detect a misalignment Dr. Mohammadi will use a gentle, non-invasive chiropractic adjustment program to reposition the affected vertebra and improve the mobility of your neck.

Keep in mind, while our treatment may alleviate the symptoms of text neck syndrome, you will also need to implement healthier posture to prevent the condition from returning at a later date.

If you’re looking for a natural and alternative treatment for text neck syndrome, we can help!

Tension Headaches

Tension Headaches

What are Tension Headaches?

Tension headaches are the most common type of headache. They are usually described as a pressure or tightening pain on both sides of the head, typically around the temples. They can be caused by stress, muscle tension, or tight neck muscles, and will usually subside after a short period of time.

Signs and Symptoms of Tension Headaches:

Aside from throbbing pain and pressure, tension headaches may also cause nausea, blurred vision, sensitivity to light and sound, and difficulty concentrating. The headache may spread to the back of the head and neck and may even cause you to feel mild nausea or dizziness.

How the Upper Cervical Spine Affects Tension Headaches:

Tension headaches are often attributed to unnatural spinal alignment. When the spinal column is placed under prolonged stress, it typically leads to misalignments in the vertebrae of the upper cervical spine.

Upper cervical misalignments disrupt the nerve structure and musculature of the neck and upper back, causing strain and inflammation around the muscles and ligaments in the neck. Left untreated, these imbalances can pinch and compress nerves in the neck and head, leading to tension headaches and other musculoskeletal issues.

How Our Tension Headache Treatment Works:

At our office, we treat tension headaches and other related conditions by restoring proper alignment to the cervical vertebrae. By removing nerve interference and muscle strain, we can relieve tension headaches and restore the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Our tension headache treatment begins with a comprehensive examination of the spinal column and musculature of the upper back. If we find evidence of vertebral misalignment, our expert chiropractor, Dr. Mohammadi, will perform a series of gentle adjustments to the vertebrae in your upper cervical spine. These adjustments will restore your natural spinal alignment and relieve pain and discomfort in the head, neck, and upper back.

If you’re tired of living with tension headaches, chiropractic care may be the solution you’re looking for.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

This condition is most commonly associated with people who are constantly using a computer. Typing is a motion that, when performed repetitively and with poor posture, can cause carpal tunnel syndrome.

Signs and symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome:

Symptoms include pain, numbness, weakness, or a burning sensation. The nerves in the fingertips travel through the wrist, up the arm, and into the neck. The spine is the center of the nervous system, and the pain in your hands and wrists can be relieved by your chiropractor with concentrated spinal and joint adjustments.

How the Spine Affects Carpal Tunnel Syndrome:

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is often attributed to unnatural spinal alignment or misalignment in the wrist. When the spinal column is placed under prolonged stress, it typically leads to misalignments in the vertebrae.

Cervical and Thoracic misalignments disrupt the nerve structure and musculature of the neck and upper back, causing strain and inflammation around the muscles and ligaments. Left untreated, these imbalances can pinch and compress nerves in the neck, shoulder, and wrist leading to carpal tunnel and other musculoskeletal issues

How Our Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Treatment Works:

At our office, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is treated by restoring proper alignment to the vertebrae and the wrist. By removing nerve interference and muscle strain, we can relieve pain and restore the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Our treatment begins with a comprehensive examination of the spinal column and musculature of the upper back and the wrist. If we find evidence of vertebral misalignment Dr. Mohammadi will perform a series of gentle adjustments to the vertebrae in your spine. These adjustments will restore your natural spinal alignment and relieve pain and discomfort/

If you’re suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, chiropractic care may be the solution you’re looking for.

Shoulder Pain

Shoulder Pain

What is Shoulder pain?

Shoulder joint is one of the most complex joints in the body. Shoulder pain is any pain in or around the shoulder joint. There are different conditions that could cause shoulder pain, including Subluxation (misalignment) of the AC joint Frozen Shoulder, Arthritis, Tendonitis, Bursitis, Tear in the Rotator Cuff, and Rotator Cuff Sprain.

Signs and Symptoms of Shoulder pain:

Signs and Symptoms could include any pain in the shoulder region, whether it is a dull ache, sharp pain or tingling sensation that radiates down your arm. Since the shoulder is used so frequently, injuries are quite common. Shoulder injuries can happen in sports, from working at a desk job, bad posture, car accidents and even while doing everyday tasks.

How the Spine Affects Shoulder Pain:

Shoulder Pain is often attributed to unnatural spinal alignment or misalignment in the shoulder. When the spinal column is placed under prolonged stress, it typically leads to misalignments in the vertebrae.

Thoracic misalignments disrupt the nerve structure and musculature of the upper back, causing strain and inflammation around the muscles and ligaments in the shoulder. Left untreated, these imbalances can pinch and compress nerves in the neck, thoracic and shoulder, leading to shoulder pain and other musculoskeletal issues.

How Our Shoulder Treatment Works:

At our office, we treat Shoulder pain by restoring proper alignment to the vertebrae and the shoulder. By removing nerve interference and muscle strain, we can relieve pain and restore the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Our treatment begins with a comprehensive examination of the spinal column and musculature of the upper back and the shoulder. If we find evidence of vertebral misalignment Dr. Mohammadi will perform a series of gentle adjustments to the vertebrae in your spine. These adjustments will restore your natural spinal alignment and relieve pain and discomfort. Dr. Mohammadi might recommend some strengthening exercises to help rebuild stability in a weak shoulder.

If you’re suffering from Shoulder Pain, chiropractic care may be the solution you’re looking for.

Herniated Disc

Herniated Disc

What is a herniated disc?

A herniated disc is a protrusion of the intervertebral disc. This puts pressure on the nerves, which in turn can lead to pain. A herniated disc or prolapse occurs when the disc loses its flexibility. The disc, which functions like a “shock absorber” in the spine, can then no longer absorb certain movements well. As a result, cracks arise in the outside of the disc which allows the inner and soft gelatinous core to slip outwards over the fiber ring. In total, the spine has 23 intervertebral discs that are responsible for mobility. Disc herniation can occur in the cervical, Thoracic or Lumbar region.

Signs and Symptoms of a herniated disc:

Depending on the severity and the affected area, a prolapse can cause a variety of symptoms from head to toe. These include, among others: back, neck and headaches, muscle hardening, numbness and tingling in arms and legs, dizziness, inflammatory reactions of the nerves or tissue.

How Our Herniated Disc Treatment Works:

Our treatment focuses on correcting the misalignment of the whole spine. By restoring proper function to the spine, our patients are able to reduce pressure on the involved nerve.

The first step in our Herniated Disc treatment is to identify where you are suffering from a vertebral misalignment. Dr. Mohammadi will perform a series of gentle, non-invasive chiropractic adjustments along with using Spinal Decompression to restore proper alignment to the spine thereby reducing or even eliminating the symptoms.

If you’re looking for a natural solution to Herniated Disc, we’re here to help!

Thoracic Pain Syndrome

Thoracic Pain Syndrome

What is Thoracic spine syndrome (BWS syndrome)?

BWS syndrome is a collective term for physical suffering in the thoracic spine area. This clinical picture is less common than the lumbar spine or cervical spine syndrome, but is still common in the population. The thoracic spine is located between the cervical spine and the lumbar spine and is the most stable link among these three. The further down the thoracic vertebrae are located, the more stability they have because the body weight on them increases.

Structure and function of the thoracic spine area:

The thorax consists of the thoracic spine with its 12 thoracic vertebrae, which support the individual ribs, and the breastbone (sternum). This area starts at shoulder height and ends at the lower chest. In its natural shape, the spine section is slightly curved backwards. Due to its high stability, pain symptoms occur less frequently than in the neck or lumbar area. The rib-vertebral joints expand or expand with each breath, keeping the thorax mobile.

The function of the thoracic vertebrae is to allow the torso to move and the ribs to maintain their support. In addition, the internal organs in the chest area are protected.

Signs and Symptoms of BWS syndrome:

In many cases, the physical suffering of a thoracic spine blockage is similar to the symptoms of heart problems. The heart is protected by and located beneath the chest muscles. Among the symptoms are the following : pain in the chest (belt-shaped), dull and pressing pain in the shoulder blade, a pulling sensation between the shoulder blades, pain in the rib area or chest pain, limited upper body mobility, cracking in the sternum, back pain, incorrect posture when running, breathing problems (shallow breath).

In order NOT to confuse these symptoms with a heart attack, you should pay attention to whether the physical suffering occurs during endurance activities or during movements of the upper body. Restricted movements are more likely to indicate a harmless vertebral blockage.

However, if the result is symptoms of paralysis in the fingers, arms, back or chest, you should see a doctor immediately. Shortness of breath, sweating, cold skin and nausea lasting more than five minutes, can indicate a heart attack.

How Our Thoracic Pain Syndrome Treatment Works:

Our treatment focuses on correcting the misalignment in the whole spine. By restoring proper function to the spine, our patients are able to reduce pressure on the involved area.

The first step in our Thoracic Pain Syndrome treatment is to identify where you are suffering from a vertebral misalignment and ruling out any other conditions (heart involvement). Dr. Mohammadi will perform a series of gentle, non-invasive chiropractic adjustments to restore proper alignment to the spine thereby reducing or even eliminating the symptoms.

If you’re looking for a natural solution to Thoracic Pain Syndrome, we’re here to help!

Plantar Fasciitis and Foot Pain

Plantar Fasciitis and Foot Pain

What is Plantar Fasciitis?

The most common cause of heel pain is plantar fasciitis. It’s often the result of a biomechanical fault that causes abnormal pronation (landing of the foot while running or walking). When the foot is bearing weight, the talus will flex while the calcaneus everts. It’s this pronation that increases tension on the plantar fasciitis. This condition can occur in both men and women, but is more common with runners and those who are obese.

Signs and symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis:

People with plantar fasciitis often describe heel pain when walking; the pain is often localized at the central band of the plantar fascia. Achilles tendonitis and flat feet are other causes of foot pain.

How Our Plantar Fasciitis Treatment Works:

Foot pain can be caused by an abnormality in the alignment of the 26 foot bones. Dr. Mohammadi will examine your foot and, when she detects misalignment, she will use special joint adjustments to restore a healthy alignment. This type of treatment gets to the root cause of the foot pain. Foot adjustment, along with stretching exercise prescribed by Dr.Mohammadi will reduce inflammation, increase mobility and help eliminate foot pain.

If you are looking for a natural solution to Plantar Fasciitis and Foot Pain, we’re here to help!

Hip Pain

Hip Pain

What is Hip Pain?

Hip pain that occurs on the inside of the hip or groin area typically indicates a problem with the hip joint. However, if the pain is concentrated at the outside of the hip, upper thigh, or outer buttock, this usually points to an issue with the muscles, ligaments, tendons, or other tissues around the hip joint. Some of the most common causes of hip pain are osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fracture, bursitis, tendinitis and in some cases, muscles and tendon sprain.

Sign and Symptoms of Hip Pain:

Besides experiencing severe pain in the hip, people may feel stiffness after not moving for a period of time (for example, getting up in the morning). A swollen hip after repetitive movement and the inability to walk are also symptom of a hip problem

Our Hip Treatment:

In our office, we will create a plan to heal the root cause of the hip problem. This plan may include treatments that target both the muscles and the joints of the affected area. These adjustments made during treatment will improve your condition whether it is reduced joint mobility, inflammation, or compression of a nerve.

If you are looking for a natural solution to Hip Pain, we’re here to help!

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia

What is Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia is a debilitating disorder that causes a variety of symptoms in the body. It is identified by constant musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, memory problems, and sleep disturbance. Oftentimes, fibromyalgia is accompanied by a narrowing of the spinal canal, called spinal stenosis. This condition can cause additional pain, difficulty walking and numbness or tingling in the legany experts also believe that exposure to a traumatic situation may cause a trigger in fibromyalgia symptoms.

Signs and Symptoms of Fibromyalgia:

Symptoms of Fibromyalgia vary depending on the individual, but in general, fibromyalgia causes widespread pain, tender joints, joint stiffness, muscle pain, insomnia, exhaustion, cognitive difficulties, and sleep disturbance.

Our Fibromyalgia Treatment:

She will then use Chiropractic adjustments to maximize the spaces around the spinal cord and nerve roots to help reduce the symptoms. Receiving regular adjustments will also help reduce inflammation and maximize the range of motion of your vertebrae.

If you are looking for a natural solution to Fibromyalgia, we’re here to help!

Scoliosis

Scoliosis

What is Scoliosis?

Scoliosis of the spine refers to an abnormal lateral curvature of the spine which interferes with your body’s natural communication system. The Spine’s normal curves occur at the cervical, thoracic and lumbar region. In most cases, scoliosis occurs as individuals grow and develop through childhood and into a young adult, so parents should get a regular check-up with a doctor of chiropractic to identify the problem early and start treatment to help a child’s spine grow in healthy direction.

Signs and Symptoms of Scoliosis:

Physical signs may include uneven shoulders and hips (one side might appear higher), one side of the rib cage might appear higher than the other when bending forward. Patient may present with a visibly curved spine and leaning to one side.  They can also report difficulty sitting or standing.

Our Scoliosis Treatment:

In our office we focus on addressing the underlying spinal health concerns and encouraging the proper function of the spine. Dr.Mohammadi will examine the spine and view lateral curves of the spine to recognize potential complications associated with the curve. Treatment strategies depend on the severity of the curvature and the symptoms. Along with spinal adjustments Dr. Mohammadi may also recommend exercise and stretching to maintain mobility and flexibility to help alleviate certain symptoms.
